What to expect

This full-day experience takes you through some of Lisbon’s most iconic landmarks, including Campo Pequeno Bullring, Parque das Nações, Nossa Senhora do Monte Viewpoint, Chiado, and the Belém Tower.

The day is thoughtfully divided into two parts: It begins with pickup at your doorstep by van, heading first to some of the city’s more distant highlights — such as the Sanctuary of Christ the King, offering the highest panoramic viewpoint over Lisbon. As a special highlight of the day, you’ll be offered a TukTuk ride across Lisbon’s legendary 7 Hills — a unique experience that unveils hidden viewpoints and charming narrow streets unreachable by larger vehicles.

The journey then continues through the heart of the city, covering the remaining highlights, before you’re comfortably dropped off at the location of your choice.

The order of the itinerary plan can be altered to optimize the client’s experience and pickup or drop-off.

Experience Details

The Lisbon Experience is the most comprehensive, covering all the main areas of Lisbon, including the Seven Hills and the Belém district. The route is approximately 50 km long, with 12 km dedicated to two of the most challenging areas to complete in the same timeframe: the Medieval Hills and the Romantic Hills.

We begin by traveling along Lisbon’s main avenues, which transport us to the architecture of the Estado Novo – the dictatorship that dominated Portugal for much of the 20th century. We will also catch glimpses of past centuries, such as the beautiful Campo Pequeno Bullring. The destination is Parque das Nações, the site of Expo 98, which left behind one of the most modern areas in Lisbon and Europe.

From here, we head to the Medieval Hills. We will learn about the origins of Lisbon: how it was founded, how it was conquered from the Moors, and a timeline of almost 3,000 years of different civilizations. We will also explore the narrow medieval streets and marvel at the views from the city’s main viewpoints. It is probably the area of the town with the steepest hills.

Regarding the Romantic Hills, as difficult to traverse as the Medieval Hills, you will be in contact with a city renewed after the Lisbon earthquake of 1755, the largest ever in Europe. This is the area of beautiful palaces, gardens, and the most chic neighborhoods. Together, the Medieval Hills and the Romantic Hills form the 7 Hills. The tourist bus and the tram don’t even cover 50% of what you can do with us.

On the way to Belém, we will stop at the creative LX Factory and see, in addition to the emblematic Monument to the Discoveries, two UNESCO World Heritage monuments: the Jerónimos Monastery and the Belém Tower. These are the prominent landmarks of the Age of Discovery. Much of this area is not covered by tram 15 or tourist buses.

Here’s everything you can do with us in a full day, from 4 to 6 hours! On your own, it would take you 4 to 5 days, without being able to supplement it with our explanations or enjoy our company.

Experience:

Recommendations

– Advisable comfortable clothing and warm coats, especially in the colder seasons (autumn and winter). Waterproof in winter;

– Everyday Is Sunday declines all responsibility for the closure of public spaces, alteration or cancellation of transport schedules or monuments, and alteration of the ticket fees they charge;
– The duration of each tour is merely indicative. For all experiences charged by the hour, the final term is defined by the time consumed, considering the beginning until the end of the tour;
– For all experiences billed per hour, the overtime period will be billed in blocks of 60 minutes, considering the hourly price of each hour block;
– Exceeded time for full-day tours will be charged €100/hour.
